An extruder gearbox replacement is an engineering comparison, not a model-number substitution. The candidate has to match the required operating point and the mechanical fingerprint of the installed gearbox before it can be treated as interchangeable.
Why model-number matching is not enough
Industry model codes are useful search terms, but they do not prove that two gearboxes share the same performance point, thrust system, shaft geometry or mounting interface. Even within one nominal size, variants can differ in spline or detailed dimensions.
Build a mechanical fingerprint
Record the mounting footprint, hole pattern, center height, input shaft diameter and fit, output shaft or spline, thrust-interface geometry, cooling connections, lubrication interfaces and maintenance clearance. Photograph each side and the screw-side connection.
Compare the operating point
Match motor power and input speed, required screw speed, ratio, output torque, axial thrust and duty. If an exact ratio or process speed is critical, do not replace it with a nearby nominal value without checking the machine process requirement.
Check lubrication, cooling and rotation
A candidate may fit mechanically but still be unsuitable if the original machine depends on a pump, filter, cooler, pipe connection or particular rotation arrangement that the candidate does not provide. Include these items in the replacement matrix.
Replacement status should remain conditional until every item is closed
During engineering review, treat a candidate as a functional replacement candidate, not a guaranteed drop-in replacement. Release it as interchangeable only after the performance and interface checklist has been verified against the approved drawing and order configuration.
What CHINFAR needs for a replacement review
The best package is the existing nameplate, motor nameplate, screw or machine information, overall and mounting dimensions, shaft/spline dimensions, photos and any old drawing. If some values are inaccessible, mark them as unknown so the review can focus on the missing items.
