IEC Motor Frame and Gearbox Interface Guide
Motor power does not uniquely determine the gearbox input interface. Motor frame, mounting form, flange dimensions and adapter geometry must be checked together.
Parameters to match
- IEC motor frame
- Motor mounting form, such as flange or foot arrangement
- Motor shaft diameter and extension
- Flange register and bolt pattern
- Gearbox adapter/interface code
A 7.5 kW motor, for example, should not be converted directly into one assumed interface without checking pole count and frame standard.
How this applies to R, F, K and S gear units
The same engineering principle applies across the CHINFAR four-series platform, but the mechanical layout changes: R is inline/near-inline, F is parallel-shaft, and K/S are right-angle families. Use the principle to define the requirement, then select a configuration within the appropriate family.
