Water and Wastewater Agitator Drive Selection Guide
Author: HUIGUANG × CHENGFA Transmission Technical Team · Updated: 2026-08-15

Motor power alone cannot define an agitator drive. Medium density and viscosity, tank size, impeller geometry, required speed, shaft length, level variation, starts, sealing and outdoor exposure determine torque, shaft loading and gearbox arrangement.
First define whether the process is equalization, dissolving, flocculation, dosing or solids suspension. Then determine whether the gearbox output carries the agitator shaft loads directly or whether a separate frame and bearing system supports them. Finally select the drive orientation and environmental protection.
Submit medium, viscosity, tank dimensions, impeller, shaft, speed, operating hours, installation drawing and ambient conditions to sales@chinfar.com.
