Gearbox Replacement Engineering | Interface, Duty and Acceptance Checklist

A replacement gearbox should not be ordered on appearance alone. CHENGFA first checks the existing mechanical interfaces, actual operating duty, target performance and acceptance method, then determines whether a standard family fits or an engineered configuration is required.

Fix the mechanical boundaries first

Provide the original nameplate, assembly drawing or measured dimensions: foot holes, flange, centre height, shaft diameters and extensions, keyways, rotation, available envelope and nearby components. If the unit cannot be removed, submit clear photographs from several directions and all dimensions that can be measured safely.

Rebuild the real duty

Power alone is insufficient. Input speed, required output speed, continuous or intermittent duty, daily hours, start frequency, shock, reversing, radial and axial loads, temperature, dust and corrosive exposure are also relevant. If the old unit overheated, leaked, broke a shaft or suffered tooth damage, include the failure location and recurrence interval.

Define verification and delivery

Before manufacturing, freeze the interfaces, performance boundary and inspection requirements. For drawings, samples, interfaces and operating data that the customer is legally entitled to use, the joint manufacturing system can carry out dimensional adaptation, performance matching, structural optimization and engineered manufacturing.
