Why an Agitator Gearbox Requires a Shaft-Load Review

Long shafts, impellers, overhang, liquid-level changes and medium resistance can create radial and axial loads that matter more than motor power. The designer must state whether a separate frame and bearing system supports the agitator shaft or whether the gearbox output carries the load.

An enquiry should include medium density and viscosity, solids and temperature, impeller type and diameter, shaft length and diameter, overhang, support bearings, speed, starts, level variation and sealing. R/F/K/S, cycloidal and industrial gearbox options should be compared only after these loads are defined.
