Extruder gearbox application starts with the machine architecture. Single-screw and conical twin-screw lines impose different output, thrust and alignment requirements, which is why CHINFAR separates the product families before model-level selection.
Single-screw extrusion drives
Single-screw extrusion requires one main screw output plus a load path for the axial reaction generated by the process. ZLYJ, ZSYJ and CFG belong to this general application category, with different transmission architectures and performance/interface ranges.
Conical twin-screw extrusion drives
Conical twin-screw machines require two coordinated screw outputs. SZ and SZL gearbox systems combine reduction with power distribution and therefore must be matched to the machine's two-output geometry and alignment requirements.
New machine design versus replacement
For a new extruder, the gearbox can be selected together with the screw, motor, base and cooling/lubrication layout. For a replacement, the existing machine defines more constraints, so interface measurement and the mechanical fingerprint become the priority.
OEM and distributor use
Equipment manufacturers can standardize a family of approved configurations for repeated machine designs. Distributors should collect a controlled inquiry set—motor, screw, speed/ratio, thrust if known, mounting and interface data—before treating two model codes as equivalent.
Custom integration
Where the standard interface does not match the machine, the engineering task should be defined explicitly: adapter, coupling/spline change, mounting modification, lubrication/cooling modification or a different gearbox family. The modification should be documented rather than hidden inside a “same model” description.
